There was plenty of fun for an old-fashioned girl if she had what the age called “ginger.” Perhaps a whole spice cabinet has inspired the sportive nymphs in this old stereopticon shot; they obviously grew up on the other side of the steam car tracks from the ladies on the preceding page. Of course, this is late Victorian “cheesecake” and some may remember a song that goes with it: “Oh, ain’t she neat; Oh, ain’t she neat; Striped stockings and dirty feet...”
